McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance
McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance
Families who are currently experiencing fixed, regular or adequate residence could receive assistance under the McKinney-Vento Act. The McKinney-Vento Act aims to remove barriers to education for homeless children and youth and promote school stability during times of housing instability. It emphasizes the importance of keeping homeless students in their schools of origin whenever possible and providing the necessary support to ensure their academic success.
Filer School District can assist families and student by providing:
- Immediate Enrollment

- Transportation to School of Origin
- Hygiene Supplies, Clothing, Coats, etc.

If you have any questions about this program or in need of assistance, please contact your school’s counselor or Filer School District’s McKinney-Vento Coordinator.
