Sergeant Darnall
School Resource Officer
About Me
The primary reason for a school resource officer is to provide security for teachers, staff and students. I perform three major roles: law enforcement officer, law-related counselor, and law-related educator. I work in collaboration with the school and the community as a resource for safety and security issues. I am 1997 graduate of Filer High School, and I began my law enforcement career with the Filer Police Department while I was still in high school in 1996 as a reserve officer. I received my degree through the College of Southern Idaho. I was a volunteer firefighter and emergency medical responder with the Filer Fire Department for almost 30 years. I have qualifications in emergency response instruction and as an evaluator regarding threats to school facilities. Along with this, I hold certifications in school resource management, and I have Fire and EMS certifications that assist with this position.
